Welcome to the website of the Presbytery of West Lothian.
We are a presbytery of the Church of Scotland, covering all of the congregations of West Lothian.

We meet together for normal business on the first Tuesday of the month in September, October, November, March, May and June at 1900hrs, normally in the premises of St John’s Church Bathgate but during the current pandemic we are meeting on Zoom.

The Moderator for 2020-2021 is Rev. Derek Henderson, OLM currently serving at Abercorn linked with Pardovan, Kingscavil and Winchburgh,

The Presbytery Clerk is Rev. Thom Riddell.

Our Presbytery Mission Partner is Rev. Ken Ross, who is supporting theological education in Malawi, Mozambique and South Sudan, based in Zomba, Malawi. You can follow his blog here and on our Facebook page. His latest Partner Plan letter can be found here.

The 25th June 2020 marked the 70th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. The Scottish National Korean War Museum is located at Witchcraig Wood, in the Bathgate Hills. A prayer for peace was written by Very Rev. Dr, Susan Brown, and recorded there. Please click here to view the video.

We have added a “vacancies” page for any vacancies, either in West Lothian itself or in the new Presbytery of Edinburgh and West Lothian which will be up and running from January 1st 2022.  This page will continue for a few months after the merger, and will then be replaced by a page for the new Presbytery.
